How to get a YouTube Play Button

Understand Creator Award milestones, channel eligibility, and the safe way to check for your award redemption invitation.

YouTube Creator Awards recognize channels that reach subscriber milestones and pass YouTube’s eligibility review. Hitting a number does not guarantee an award; YouTube reviews each channel.

What should your channel qualify for?

How to check and redeem an award

  1. Check the milestone. Open YouTube Studio and confirm the channel’s subscriber count.
  2. Review channel status. Check Studio for policy notices, strikes, restrictions, and any content concerns.
  3. Look for YouTube’s eligibility or redemption notification. If eligible, follow the instructions supplied by YouTube. The exact redemption flow can change.
  4. Use official channels only. Do not pay a third party that promises to unlock an award or share your Google password or verification codes.
  5. Complete the official redemption form if invited. Confirm shipping and award details only through the official process.
Important: Do not confuse Creator Awards with YouTube Partner Program monetization. They are different programs with different criteria.
